Birth work found me! I become a doula after my unnecessary cesarean with my eldest son. The experience left me feeling cheated and traumatized. I wanted to do something to not only help my healing but help other mothers to-be avoid the experience I had so I became a doula in However, after attending my first home birth a few years later I was completely amazed by how different a laboring woman was supported and cared for while walking the coals of labor.
During that time after a few miscarriages I was blessed with an baby and was finally able to have a vaginal birth at home in my own bed surrounded by loved ones and my midwives. Women should be able to make educated decisions about their care. To be treated with respect, kindness and patience. I enjoy working with families and watching them grow and seeing women realize their power in the midst of it all.
